There isn’t currently an active Local History Hub in Halton, but we’d love to see one develop.

Halton has a rich local story, shaped by the communities of Runcorn and Widnes, the River Mersey, canals, industry and the growth and change of the borough. Its historic places, museums, archives and local collections offer plenty of opportunities for schools to explore the people, places and stories that have shaped the area.

If you’re a teacher, school, museum, archive, heritage organisation or community partner interested in strengthening local history education in Halton, please complete our short Expression of Interest form.

We’ll keep you updated as local interest grows and let you know about opportunities to get involved and help establish a Hub in the area.
