RESOURCES FOR EDUCATORS

Welcome to the Local History Hub resources page. This section is designed to help teachers and educators discover ways to engage students with local history through our growing network of history hubs.

Looking for local history resources, projects, or partnerships? Start with our Find Your Local Hub section. Here you’ll discover schools, educators, and community groups already involved in the movement—sharing what works and helping each other connect with local heritage.

Find Your Local Hub

As a grassroots initiative, we’re working closely with teachers, schools, and heritage partners to co-create a national bank of practical, curriculum-linked resources. From ready-to-use lesson plans to community project templates, everything we develop is grounded in the realities of school life.

This is just the beginning. Our long-term goal is to build the UK’s most useful, trusted collection of school-ready local history resources—shaped by the people who use them.

What We’re Building

Hub Leads' Resource Portal

The Hub Leads' Resource Portal is now live – a dedicated space for teachers and community leads running Local History Hubs. It offers exclusive resources, collaboration tools, and step-by-step guidance to support you in developing inspiring local history projects. Access the Resource Portal here.

If you have questions, want to share your own resources, or are curious about getting involved, we’d love to hear from you.
