LOCAL HISTORY HUB MANCHESTER

There isn’t currently an active Local History Hub in the City of Manchester, but we’d love to see one develop.

Manchester has an extraordinarily rich local story, shaped by industrialisation, migration, political movements and the growth and change of its communities. Organisations such as the People's History Museum and Manchester Museumprovide opportunities for schools to encounter collections, stories and sources that connect the city to wider histories. Both also provide learning opportunities for schools and young people.

If you’re a teacher, school, museum, archive, heritage organisation or community partner interested in strengthening local history education in Manchester, please complete our short Expression of Interest form.

We’ll keep you updated as local interest grows and use expressions of interest to help identify opportunities to establish a Local History Hub in the city.
