LOCAL HISTORY HUB NEWCASTLE

There isn’t currently an active Local History Hub in Newcastle, but we’d love to see one develop.

Newcastle upon Tyne has a rich local story, shaped by the River Tyne, industry, engineering, migration and the growth and change of its communities. Its historic buildings, museums, archives and collections offer extensive opportunities for schools to explore the people, places and stories that have shaped the city.

If you’re a teacher, school, museum, archive, heritage organisation or community partner interested in strengthening local history education in Newcastle, please complete our short Expression of Interest form.

We’ll keep you updated as local interest grows and let you know about opportunities to get involved and help establish a Hub in the area.
