LOCAL HISTORY HUB SOUTHWARK

There isn’t currently an active Local History Hub in Southwark, but we’d love to see one develop.

Southwark has a rich local story, shaped by the River Thames, centuries of trade and industry, migration and the growth and change of its diverse communities. Its historic places, museums, archives and collections offer extensive opportunities for schools to explore the people, places and stories that have shaped the borough.

If you’re a teacher, school, museum, archive, heritage organisation or community partner interested in strengthening local history education in Southwark, please complete our short Expression of Interest form.

We’ll keep you updated as local interest grows and let you know about opportunities to get involved and help establish a Hub in the area.
