Local History Hub Stroud brings together schools, heritage organisations, and community partners to support high-quality, place-based history across the Stroud district. The hub helps children and young people explore the people, places, landscapes, and stories that have shaped the area, strengthening local pride and a sense of connection to where they live.
The hub operates as a local working party, meeting regularly to strengthen and support local history provision through collaboration. By bringing together educators, heritage organisations, local authorities, and community partners, it creates a space to share expertise, develop practical approaches, and respond to the needs of real classrooms.
Through curriculum support, partnership working, and local storytelling, the hub makes it easier for schools and communities to work together and ensure local history is meaningful, inclusive, and accessible for all learners.

Our Team

Tony is a learning officer with the Cotswold Canals resoration project. He works closely with local heritage organisations who are also passionate about providing opportunities for all ages to explore, understand and look after our rich local heritage. He has a background in developing learning resources and opportunities across a wide range of contexts, ages and different types of school.

We’re keen to hear from teachers, schools, museums, archives, and community organisations across Stroud who would like to get involved, whether by collaborating on projects, sharing local expertise, or supporting curriculum-linked local history opportunities.
