Local History Hub and English Heritage
Local History Hub is delighted to be developing a national partnership with English Heritage, who share our commitment to supporting young people’s engagement with local history, heritage, and place.
English Heritage is a charity that cares for over a million objects and 400+ historic sites in every part of England, from international icons to local treasures. They offer free self-led visits, expert-led Discovery Visit workshops, and a wide range of free downloadable resources to help bring history to life for learners and create unique and memorable school trips.
Together, we’re exploring how English Heritage’s Learning and Participation Officers (LPOs) can connect with our school-based Local History Hubs across the UK, from offering tailored CPD and learning opportunities, to signposting schools towards relevant regional sites and resources.
This developing partnership reflects our shared belief in the power of local heritage to inspire curiosity, build community connections, and open up pathways into the sector. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to supporting our shared networks through joined-up offers and collaborative working.
