Welcoming Charlotte Barry: Regional Heritage Advisor for South Wales
We’re delighted to announce that Charlotte Barry has joined Local History Hub as our new Regional Heritage Advisor for South Wales.
Charlotte is passionate about lifelong learning and using collections to spark meaningful engagement. She currently works as Education and Interpretation Officer at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery, where she helps connect communities and schools with the site’s rich industrial and cultural heritage. Alongside this, Charlotte serves as a GEM Cymru Rep, championing museum and heritage education across the region.
As Regional Heritage Advisor, Charlotte will help guide Local History Hub’s growth in South Wales by:
Signposting opportunities for school-heritage collaboration
Connecting us to potential partner organisations and community projects
Championing inclusive, place-based education across the region
Offering strategic insight as we expand our presence in the area
This voluntary role is designed to be flexible, low-commitment, and high-impact—ideal for heritage professionals who want to remain meaningfully involved in education and community work without adding to their delivery workload. Charlotte joins a growing, UK-wide team of Advisors who are shaping a national movement rooted in local stories.
Want to become a Regional Heritage Advisor too?
We’re always keen to hear from heritage professionals, educators, and community champions who’d like to get involved. Whether you’re based in another region or just want to explore how you could contribute, get in touch at enquiries@localhistoryhub.org.uk or click [here] to find out more.
Please join us in giving Charlotte the warmest of welcomes. We’re thrilled to have her insight, experience, and passion supporting South Wales’ heritage education journey.
