Exploring Migration: A Growing Partnership with the Migration Museum

We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with the Migration Museum, a pioneering organisation that explores how the movement of people to and from the UK has shaped who we are – as individuals, as communities, and as a nation. At Local History Hub, we believe that every community’s history is a mosaic of journeys, stories and connections. The Migration Museum’s work aligns powerfully with our mission to make local history more inclusive, engaging and representative of the people who live it.

By working together, we’re supporting schools and local communities to engage with themes of migration, identity and belonging in meaningful, age-appropriate ways. Whether through classroom projects, family heritage activities, or community-led storytelling, this partnership will help ensure that the rich and complex histories of movement are not just acknowledged but actively explored and celebrated.

As our national network of history hubs continues to grow, we’re excited about the potential to amplify the voices and experiences that have often been underrepresented in local narratives. This partnership marks an important step towards a more inclusive approach to history – one that recognises how deeply interconnected we all are, and how migration continues to shape the places we call home.

We look forward to sharing resources, co-developing programmes, and supporting educators and heritage partners to bring these stories to life across the UK.
