VOLUNTEERING

Help shape something meaningful from the very beginning.

Local History Hub is in an exciting early phase—and we’re looking for volunteers who want to make a difference.

Whether you’re a teacher, heritage professional, community member or history enthusiast, your time and talents can help us build something special.

We believe local history should be part of every child’s education. Right now, we're piloting hubs in selected regions across the UK, with plans to grow to 25+ hubs from September 2026. As a volunteer, you can be part of that journey—bringing local stories to life and supporting schools in meaningful, practical ways.

Why Volunteer?

Be part of a national movement, rooted in local pride and curiosity

  • Support schools and teachers as they explore local history

  • Use your skills to build something new, creative and community-led

  • Join a friendly network of like-minded people who care about place, identity and learning

Whether you have an hour a month or a few days a term, we’d love to hear from you. We’re building a flexible, supportive volunteer team—with opportunities ranging from one-off contributions to ongoing roles with real impact.
