October has been a month of growth and connection for Local History Hub, with three new hubs launching in Lincolnshire, Leicester, and Wiltshire, a major new partnership with Historic England’s Heritage Schools Programme, and the appointment of leading history educator Michael Maddison as Non-Executive Director. Together, these developments mark a significant step forward for our teacher-led movement — building partnerships, empowering educators, and helping more communities connect with the stories that matter most.

A new Local History Hub is launching in Leicester, supported by Leicester City Council and developed in partnership with Leicester Museums & Galleries. The hub will bring schools, heritage partners, and community groups together to explore the city’s rich and diverse stories. We’re now seeking a Schools Hub Lead to join the leadership team and help shape this exciting new chapter.
