October has been a month of growth and connection for Local History Hub, with three new hubs launching in Lincolnshire, Leicester, and Wiltshire, a major new partnership with Historic England’s Heritage Schools Programme, and the appointment of leading history educator Michael Maddison as Non-Executive Director. Together, these developments mark a significant step forward for our teacher-led movement — building partnerships, empowering educators, and helping more communities connect with the stories that matter most.

A new Local History Hub is launching in Nottingham, supported by Transform Trust, to connect schools, heritage organisations, and communities through the city’s rich industrial, cultural, and social heritage. Launching in September 2026, the hub will help children explore the people, places, and events that shaped Nottingham — and we’re now seeking passionate teachers and heritage professionals to join the team.
