Teacher-led, grassroots, and rooted in belonging.

The South Tyneside Local History Hub brings together schools, museums and heritage partners to support high-quality, place-based history across the borough. The hub helps children explore the people, places and stories that have shaped South Tyneside, strengthening local pride and a sense of connection to where they live.

Through curriculum support, collaborative projects and local storytelling, the hub makes it easier for schools and communities to work together and celebrate South Tyneside’s rich and diverse heritage.

Get Involved

We’re now building the partnerships that will support the development of the South Tyneside Local History Hub.

We’re keen to hear from schools, teachers and heritage organisations across South Tyneside who would like to be involved, whether as collaborators, partner organisations or supporters of the hub’s work.

The easiest way to get involved is to complete our Expression of Interest Form. It only takes a few minutes and helps us understand how you’d like to be part of the hub’s journey.
