About Local History Hub
Local History Hub is a fast-growing, teacher-led national initiative helping communities explore, share, and celebrate the histories that matter most to them. We work with schools, cultural organisations, and individuals to create meaningful local history content and experiences.
Our Cheshire West & Chester Hub is launching in September 2025 and will serve as a vibrant local base for activity, outreach, and collaboration. The Hub will connect a network of local schools and community partners to support place-based history learning and engagement.
The Role
We’re looking for a passionate, community-minded individual to become the Community Lead for our Cheshire West & Chester Hub. This voluntary role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting people, has a flair for outreach, and believes in the power of local stories.
As Community Lead, you’ll act as a local ambassador for the project—helping to build partnerships, raise awareness, and shape activities on the ground alongside our schools lead and heritage partners. To find out more, [click here].
What You’ll Do
Support local outreach to schools, cultural groups, and community organisations
Promote the Cheshire West & Chester Hub through social media, word of mouth, and local networks
Help shape ideas for local events, initiatives, or collaborations
Represent Local History Hub in conversations with potential partners
Provide light-touch updates to the central team (just 1–2 hours/week)
