About Local History Hub
Local History Hub is a growing national initiative helping communities explore, share, and celebrate the histories that matter most to them. We work with schools, cultural organisations, and individuals to create engaging local history content and experiences.
Our Cheshire West & Chester Hub is one of five pilot Hubs launching in 2025, providing a vibrant local base for outreach and collaboration. The Hub will support schools to bring local history into the classroom in meaningful, inclusive, and creative ways, with backing from Local History Hub’s national team.
The Role
We’re looking for a passionate, education-focused individual to become the Schools Lead for our Cheshire West & Chester Hub. This voluntary role is perfect for someone with a background in teaching or education, who wants to champion local history in schools and help shape a new, community-led initiative.
As Schools Lead, you’ll support a growing network of local schools, contribute to ideas for classroom projects or events, and act as a key local contact for the Hub. You’ll work closely with our national team and community partners to embed local stories into school life. To find out more, [click here].
What You’ll Do
Support schools in exploring and sharing local history
Connect with teachers across the area to promote the Hub’s work
Help shape locally relevant curriculum ideas and projects
Share occasional updates with the national team
Represent Local History Hub in conversations with schools and education networks
