Local History Hub Wirral brings together schools, heritage organisations, and community partners to support high-quality, place-based history across the peninsula. The hub helps children and young people explore the people, places, and stories that have shaped the Wirral, strengthening local pride and a sense of connection to where they live.
The hub operates as a local working party, meeting regularly to strengthen and support local history provision through collaboration. By bringing together educators, heritage organisations, and community partners, it creates a space to share expertise, develop practical approaches, and respond to the needs of real classrooms.
Through curriculum support, partnership working, and local storytelling, the hub makes it easier for schools and communities to work together and ensure local history is meaningful, inclusive, and accessible for all learners.
Our Team
Lindsey Marshall

Lindsey Marshall has over 15 years of teaching experience and is the History Lead at New Brighton Primary School. She has a passion for bringing history to life in the classroom, particularly the fascinating stories and heritage of the Wirral. Through the Wirral Local History Hub, Lindsey hopes to support teachers with practical resources and ideas that help children discover and appreciate their local area's unique past.

Local History Hub Wirral works with schools, heritage organisations, and community partners to strengthen local history teaching across the peninsula.
We’re keen to hear from teachers, schools, museums, archives, and community organisations who would like to get involved, whether by collaborating on projects, sharing local expertise, or supporting curriculum-linked local history opportunities.
We are also currently looking for a volunteer Community Lead to work alongside our Schools Lead in helping to build partnerships with local heritage organisations and support the development of the hub.
