Welcome to Our New Schools Lead: Bethan Howells
We’re delighted to announce that Bethan Howells has been appointed as the Schools Lead for Local History Hub Blackburn with Darwen!
Bethan has been a primary History Lead for the past six years and brings with her a deep enthusiasm for making history meaningful and accessible in the classroom. She is particularly passionate about local history, recognising just how powerfully it can engage children and how fascinating it becomes when brought to life with real places, people, and stories.
Bethan also understands the challenges that teachers often face when trying to find reliable, high-quality information and resources. In her new role, she’s committed to helping schools connect with the people, places, and materials that can bring local history teaching to life.
She’s especially excited about encouraging collaboration across schools, helping to build a strong, supportive network where teachers can share ideas, swap resources, and find practical inspiration together.
We’re thrilled to welcome Bethan to the Local History Hub team and look forward to working with her as the Blackburn with Darwen hub grows.
Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting journey continues!
