Local History Hub Joins GEM (Group for Education in Museums)

We’re delighted to announce that Local History Hub is now a proud member of GEM - the UK’s leading network for heritage education professionals

As a teacher-led, grassroots initiative, we are passionate about the power of local history to enrich learning, strengthen communities, and foster a deeper sense of belonging. Becoming a member of GEM connects us with a national community dedicated to championing learning in museums and heritage settings as well as ensuring our approach remains rooted in educational best practice.

This membership reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusive, place-based education, and reinforces the vital role that schools can play in interpreting, preserving, and celebrating local heritage.

We’re excited to learn from GEM’s wealth of experience and to contribute to its mission of promoting high-quality heritage learning for all.
