LOCAL HISTORY HUB FOR HISTORICAL SITES & ORGANISATIONS

Help bring local history to life, where it happened.

Local History Hub is a grassroots, teacher-led initiative connecting schools, communities, and heritage organisations through place-based learning. We believe that local history is most powerful when it’s shared in the places it happened—with the people who help preserve it.

Historical sites and organisations already play a vital role in this mission—offering pupils and communities the chance to explore the past in meaningful, hands-on ways.

As we expand our national network of school-led Hubs, we’re inviting museums, archives, historic buildings, and community-run heritage groups to join us as partner organisations. Membership is free!

Why Join?

Joining Local History Hub gives you the chance to:

  • Strengthen school engagement – Connect with teachers planning visits, projects, and place-based learning

  • Enhance your educational offer – Contribute resources, stories, and workshops linked to local history teaching

  • Collaborate with schools – Co-develop learning experiences that support the curriculum and inspire curiosity

  • Increase visibility – Feature your work through our growing national network

  • Be part of something new – Help shape flagship projects like Local History Day (2026, on Wednesday 22nd April) and Our Homes, Our Stories
