A New Local History Hub for Hounslow
We're delighted to announce the launch of Local History Hub Hounslow, the latest addition to our growing network of teacher-led local history partnerships across England and Wales.
Local History Hub is a grassroots initiative that brings together schools, heritage organisations, museums, archives and local communities to strengthen local history education. Through practical collaboration, hubs help children develop a deeper understanding of place, identity and belonging while supporting schools to deliver engaging, curriculum-linked local history.
Exploring Hounslow's Local Stories
Hounslow has a rich and diverse history, from royal parks and historic houses to transport, industry, migration and the many communities that have shaped West London.
Local History Hub Hounslow will help schools connect with these stories, supporting children to understand how local history reflects wider national and global events while developing a stronger sense of place and belonging.
The hub aims to make it easier for schools to work with local heritage organisations, helping teachers access expertise, collections, historic sites and meaningful curriculum opportunities.
Connecting Schools and Heritage Across Hounslow
The hub is supported by Kate Kulka, Learning Manager at Boston Manor House and Hogarth's House, who will serve as Community Hub Lead.
A former primary school teacher and governor, Kate has worked across a range of museums and cultural organisations, including Kew Gardens, the Royal Artillery Museum, the Horniman Museum and Gardens, Dulwich Picture Gallery and several museums and charities in Boston, Massachusetts.
Kate is passionate about making arts, heritage and culture more meaningful, engaging, accessible and relevant to everyone. Through the Hounslow hub, she'll help strengthen connections between schools, museums, heritage organisations and local communities across the borough.
We're also looking for a volunteer Schools Hub Lead to work alongside Kate, helping to build relationships with schools across Hounslow and shape the future direction of the hub.

We're inviting teachers, schools, museums, heritage organisations, archives, libraries, local historians and community groups across Hounslow to get involved.
