Welcome to Our New Schools Lead: Jess Kelly

We’re delighted to announce that Jess Kelly has been appointed as one of the Schools Leads for Local History Hub Cheshire West & Chester!

Jess is a KS2 teacher with a BA (Hons) in History, where she focused her studies on educational inequalities in the US. Since completing her PGCE, she has taken a leading role in developing a bespoke history curriculum for her school, working collaboratively with colleagues across the area to strengthen the teaching of local history.

She brings a strong belief in teacher-led development, with a particular passion for keeping the Local History Hub as practical and responsive as possible. Jess is committed to listening to the voices of staff delivering lessons and ensuring that high-quality, relevant resources are available to all schools taking part.

Her work is driven by a desire to make local history meaningful and engaging for children, linking the past to the places they know, and helping them understand how their own stories are part of something bigger.

We’re thrilled to have Jess on board and look forward to working with her to build a strong, inclusive hub for schools across Cheshire West & Chester.

Stay tuned for more updates as the hub grows!
