New Appointment: Saira MacNicol Joins Local History Hub as Non-Executive Director
We’re delighted to announce that Saira MacNicol has joined the Local History Hub Strategic Board as a Non-Executive Director.
Saira is an experienced museum and heritage educator, currently serving as Schools Content Producer at Historic Royal Palaces. Over the past eight years she has worked across leading cultural institutions including the British Library, UCL, and the Natural History Museum, designing and delivering learning experiences that bring history and heritage to life. She also serves as a Trustee of Egham Museum, a local history museum in Surrey.
Before moving into the heritage sector, Saira taught History in prep and secondary schools for fourteen years. This classroom experience, combined with her museum practice, underpins her passionate advocacy for local history, museums, heritage, and lifelong learning. She holds a BA (Hons), MA, and PGCE.
In her role as a Non-Executive Director, Saira will bring a wealth of expertise in heritage education, community engagement, and curriculum development. Her insights will be invaluable as Local History Hub continues to grow, building partnerships that connect schools with the histories of their places and communities.
