Local History Hub and Kimyo

Local History Hub is proud to be working in partnership with Kimyo, a new platform dedicated to helping children and young people discover museums, galleries and heritage sites.

We share a commitment to making heritage more accessible and engaging, ensuring that every child has the chance to explore culture both inside and outside the classroom. Kimyo offers families and schools an easy way to search by topic or location, while providing teachers with curriculum-linked lesson plans to extend learning beyond school visits. For low-income areas, the platform is free to use — and it is always advert-free.

Through this partnership, Local History Hub will be signposting Kimyo across our website and key resources, highlighting it as a valuable tool for schools and heritage partners alike. Together, we want to encourage children to connect more deeply with their local museums and inspire the curiosity that leads to lifelong learning.

We’re delighted to support Kimyo and look forward to seeing how this partnership helps open more doors to cultural experiences for young people.
