Local History Hub & A Day of Welcome

Local History Hub is proud to be partnering with A Day of Welcome, an initiative that champions welcoming, inclusive practice in schools.

We share a deep commitment to helping children explore identity, migration, and belonging through the stories rooted in their own communities. By connecting teachers with local heritage, we aim to make it easier for schools to access trusted, classroom-ready materials that link local histories with national conversations about welcome and sanctuary.

This partnership reflects our shared belief in the power of education to build empathy, foster understanding, and celebrate diversity. By working together, we hope to equip schools with the tools and confidence to explore themes of migration and sanctuary in meaningful ways — showing how local history connects with global experiences.

We’re excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to supporting teachers and pupils as they engage with these important stories.
