Local History Hub and Kids in Museums

Local History Hub is pleased to be exploring a partnership with Kids in Museums, the national charity dedicated to making museums more welcoming for children, young people, and families.

We share a deep commitment to helping young people connect with heritage, place, and identity — and to ensuring they can see themselves reflected in, and part of, the sector. Together, we are exploring ways to highlight the full range of careers available across museums, heritage, and local history, particularly through national initiatives like Takeover Day.

This developing partnership reflects our shared belief in the power of education to open doors and broaden horizons. By working together, we hope to support schools in connecting more meaningfully with their local museums and inspiring the next generation of curators, conservators, educators, and beyond.

We’re excited about the possibilities and look forward to where this collaboration might lead.
