Welcoming Hannah Salisbury: Regional Heritage Advisor for the East of England
We are delighted to welcome Hannah Salisbury as our new Regional Heritage Advisor for the East of England. Hannah brings a thoughtful blend of archival expertise, community engagement experience, and a deep commitment to making the past accessible and meaningful for wider audiences.
Hannah is a Freelance Heritage Consultant with a background in learning and engagement within archives. Her work focuses on uncovering the stories of real people and places and helping audiences connect with them in ways that feel relevant, personal and grounded in local experience.
She studied History at the University of Cambridge, before completing an MA in Cultural Heritage Studies at University College London. This academic foundation, combined with practical experience working with archival collections and community groups, has shaped a career centred on bringing historical material to life for the public.
Hannah’s approach aligns closely with the ethos of Local History Hub. She specialises in researching and interpreting the everyday stories that help people see themselves reflected in the past. By focusing on local lives, places and communities, her work helps ensure that heritage feels relatable and meaningful rather than distant or abstract.
